Increase your Frame-Rates!

[TERRAIN] tweak

Does anyone have an opinion (or experience) on this cfg tweak?

A big difference between FS9 and FSX was the radius in which autogen scenery was to be drawn, and that consumes quite a bit of processing power to provide, thus affects frame rates. Microsoft gave us the ability to reduce that radius that does not significantly impact the experience. In the [TERRAIN] section, add these:
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=1000
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=800

I've never tried those, but have increased the LOD setting from 4.5 to 6.5. This makes autogen objects appear farther out. It can get rough if you are supersonic at low altitudes.
