  • Cross-Community-Flight (Saturday 4/27 @ 3pm EST)

    Greetings everybody.
As some of you know, for the last 2 weeks I have been doing moderate planning and networking to put together a cross-community event where we mix and mingle with members from EasternHops, FSXMultiplay, MSFlights.Net, and other communities and developers.
It's finally time to post some details here for everybody to look at and start planning to be there.

The main purpose of this event is a meet & greet. The important thing is that we are there, talking about Flight Simulation and our experiences and meeting new people. That being said, there will of course be a flight for us to embark on together after some chatting.

This will be a 2-4 hour event, but the official start time is going to be 3pm Eastern time on Saturday, April 27th.

Time Zone Breakdown: SATURDAY, APRIL 27TH.

    3PM EASTERN

    2PM CENTRAL

    1 PM MOUNTAIN

    12PM PACIFIC

    20:00 (London)

    Flight Plan:http://skyvector.com/?ll=29.82348900...KLFT:A.K4.KPTN

Aircraft Type: We will be flying default barons. In this rare instance, there can be no exception to this. No Carenado versions can be tolerated due to the expected amount of people. We need to optimize the packet flow.

Preferred Scenery: No preferred scenery for this flight.

    FSX Server: 67.171.14.101
    Teamspeak IP: ks.jmainguy.com

Posting this for extra exposure here as well, feel free to post here any suggestions for topics of discussion.
    Thanks in advance,

    Warhawk/Jake

We appreciate your efforts, WarHawK. I will be there in my default Baron all of the day long. I'm also really looking forward not only to the flight but more so to the intercommunity good will that I expect such an initial community gathering will generate. I previously estimated our own server capabilities to you. That information I gave you is now obsolete. As of last night, we now have double the bandwidth that I previously quoted you with 12 Mb/s upspeed being the interesting new specification. As you know from my email to you admins last night, we also upgraded the FSX-FSOpen host OS from Windows 8 to Win 7. That drive switch did result in a downgrade from the solid state drive that held the Win 8 FSX host to a 7,200 hard disk drive that seems plenty adequate.
          Respects, Bob ...

We will be ready. EasternHops will have theirs available as backup.

Just seeing all those logos up there together says something. . . Nice work, WarHawk!
Take the time, a second to soar; for soon after, beckons a second more.

Marked in my calender! And nice work on the graphics. Looks like a product logo for something aviation related! Nice work indeed.

WarHawk your efforts with the flight plan and banner are great I hope to make at least the 2nd half of the flight as we are now off daylight saving it will be only 5:00am Sunday Aust EST (19:00 UTC).
To wake up that early I would need to set the alarm clock to wake my wife and then have her wake me (Not a good idea to wake wife just to go flying).
                      Oz Flyer.
                      David.
                      VA Operations Manager.
                      SPAD.neXt Beta tester.
                      FIPGauges.com Beta tester.

Got a question about the Virtual Airline? Please post in the VA forum or send me a private message.

                        Topic bump.

If people can be online Friday evening prior to the event, there's a lot that I want to go over.

It's my son's birthday celebration the Friday evening prior to the event. I'd like to be part of the flight but I'd also like to ensure I take in all you want to go over beforehand. Will there be somewhere it will be written down? Or perhaps an additional time you'll be going through it please? :eagerness:
