Interesting additional information on this Orbx Libraries update 151108 propensity to wipe your Orbx scenery away is here:

    http://www.avsim.com/topic/478142-ma...aries-problem/

This AVSIM thread mentions that the disappearance of one's installed Orbx library after running the 151108 libraries update MAY be an anti-piracy measure intentionally instituted by FTX. I personally have successfully installed this library update once from FTX Central v2 update notification. After further Orbx updates, I ran the 151108 library update again from the downloaded .exe file (FTXORBXLIBS_151108.exe) and had my Orbx scenery deleted, both FSX classic and P3Dv3. For other reasons (migration of P3Dv2.5 to P3Dv3 scenery) I had purchased SDG Software's FSCubed scenery migration tool (less than ten US bucks). With that software, I had previously taken a scenery files "snapshot" of both my FSX classic as well as my P3Dv2.5 scenery files. After the unintentional deletion of my Orbx sceneries in both sims, I used these previously existing snapshot files to restore both my FSX classic and P3Dv3 sceneries to a stable state. I then ran this same 151108 Orbx library update from FTX Central v2 update prompt (not the support forum downloaded FTXORBXLIBS_151108.exe) and I seem to have this library update successfully installed and my Orbx scenery still intact.

I am proceeding with any further Orbx updates cautiously. I am taking the aforementioned scenery snapshot of a working sim's sceneries often, for recovery purposes. Your results may vary.

Heed Casey's caution to avoid such library update until more is known on this Orbx scenery disappearance issue and/or a fixed library installer is published by Orbx.
    Respects, Bob ...

Yeah, after a couple of complaings from long time ORBX users Ed Correa turned back to tell users to just update via FTX Central, than they came up with calling everybody who updated via .exe download a Pirate...than John Vennema closed theese Thread and opend this one....

for me it makes no sense, If you download the ORBLIB and run it you got wiped out all orbx folders in all of your Sims, so you are a Hacker/Pirate, but if u use the update via FTX Central, all works fine.....

and than they going to call customers with long lists of purchase numbers, who spend thousands of $ "Pirates". in one other post they explain that they have access via FTX Central to your Registry and promis, that they do just that, but i think, they opened a backdoor for others. if someone has access to your PC Registry, than he has it to your whole system.

So, Robert, if you got wiped out every thing like me, than you are in the eyes of ORBX a Pirate, welcome on board......:triumphant: irate:
