  • gauges sharpness tweak

    Here is a tweak that I've been using with good results. It does wonders to my gauges and sharpness of the cockpit.
    To use it find [PANELS] section in your FSX,cfg and add this line

    VIRTUAL_COCKPIT_TEXTURES_SCALE=2.0

    Try it, if it works enjoy it.

        That makes perfectly logical sense Mike. Thanks! However, here's a question: Does it affect frame rates? It implies that FSX is doing two scaling operations instead of one. If that extra scaling is done once at airplane load time, it will affect a pilot just once. If, however, it is done continually, I would expect some frame rate hit. Have you tried to compare frame rates?

            Wow! That's a very noticeable difference in your screenshots. I look forward to trying this when I get home!
            Take the time, a second to soar; for soon after, beckons a second more.
