  • ► UPDATED - GOONEY BIRD FLIGHT: Special Assignment in Iceland- Bardarbunga Volcano Assessment

This week is going to be a little different for us in that we are not doing the same old "clandestine cargo" type mission. Rather we will be doing something that is all over the news these days, a fly over of the Bardarbunga Volcano in Iceland to make a visual assessment and to air drop some scientific monitoring equipment. This a SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT that will allow us to do something in another interesting location.

Note: I will be landing near the volcano to offload equipment, and will be using the Orbx freeware scenery.

Thanks, Edd. You are correct in your evaluation and that particular Manfred Jahn SkyTrain version 2.0 is the freeware C-47 that we currently favor and use when embarking on Coast's scheduled Wednesday group adventures. Altho a GPS has been offered by Storm and approved, tested version 2 repaints are either presented in Vintage Hangar or their file locations specified elsewhere, Storm indicated that he has not modified Mr. Jahn's original aircraft (per Mr. Jahn's requirements).

Your eye is good and knowledge of FSX aircraft is keen however... Storm and Coast already found Manfred Jahn's C-47 and we are currently using it. I hope you can maybe stay up late UK time and join us for tonight's volcanic special assignment. I'd like to take part of Coast's in-air flight time to quickly cover some of the events, TeamSpeak channel proposals and ATC offerings relevant to you and RAF-Virtual with some of the staff in attendance that habitually attend this Wednesday group flight.
        Respects, Bob ...

Thank edd, but we've all be using that one since last January. It's the one on my OneDrive in the Vintage Hangar. I added radar and a popup for the GPS in May.
