  • FSX: Packet Flooding and Add-On Aircraft

We are now testing/tracking all aircraft for their network load on the server. It appears that certain aircraft are so server-unfriendly, that they can cause random disconnects for other players! It is for this reason that we now give you access to our always-being-updated list of add-on aircraft. Please use caution in purchasing/selecting an aircraft. If you intend to fly it in multiplayer sessions, stick to aircraft that are server-friendly, as indicated by packet counts of around 200 or less. Remember, this list includes all tested aircraft, not just the ones we like.
Take the time, a second to soar; for soon after, beckons a second more.

Wingman, Thanks for the list of all tested aircraft. I am fairly new to flight simulation, and am currently considering adding the F-4 Phantom II from Virtavia to my FSX. Since I have never added aircraft before, how difficult is it, and is there a tutorial that I could go to to learn how to purchase aircraft successfully?

Any assistance or help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi Navy Flyboy,
Just about all will have a readme if or an installer with them and you can always ask one of the group on TeamSpeak for help and we can walk you through the install.

Thanks for the response Oz Flyer. When I get closer to purchasing the aircraft I'll be sure to get with you or someone in the group on TeamSpeak.

Is there a method for individuals to determine packet counts, or is that only possible on the server side? When I'm trying out aircraft that are not listed in the report it would be good to know if the aircraft is a problem before it creates issues for other flyers.

Only select people have access to the server tools in the game. Most if not all of the Senior Operators can do this for you. Just come into team speak and look for one of the gold O shields. Some others may have access so just ask.

Is the Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended server safe? I'm considering it for Australian and/or Alaskan VA stuff. It looks like an excellent aircraft.

I know previous versions of it were just fine, but havent flown it since version 1.03 (current is 1.10).

I can probably retest the current version since I'm home for the holidays if you'd like to be certain.

Is this the reason why I can't enter the server
                    Or I am banned

I don't see that you were banned anywhere, and a packet flooding aircraft won't prevent you from entering the server. Might be something on your end.
